INS Kursura (S20) was a Kalvari-class diesel-electric submarine of the Indian Navy. It was India’s fourth submarine. Kursura was commissioned on 18 December 1969 and was decommissioned on 27 February 2001 after 31 years of service.
The TU 142 Aircraft Museum is a preserved Tupolev Tu-142 located in Visakhapatnam, in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Built as part of Vizag city tourism promotion, it was formally inaugurated by President of India Ram Nath Kovind in December 2017.
The Borra Caves are located on the East Coast of India, in the Ananthagiri hills of the Araku Valley of the Alluri Sitharama Raju district in Andhra Pradesh. Borra Caves were formed because of the flow of Gosthani River on the limestone deposits. These caves are known for the breathtaking stalactite and stalagmite formations such as Shiva-Parvathi, Rishi’s Beard, Mother-Child, Crocodile, Human Brain, Tiger and Cows udder.
Rushikonda Beach is in Visakhapatnam on the coast of Bay of Bengal in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The beach is maintained by the state tourism board, APTDC. Rushikonda beach is widely known for its golden sands and tidy waves of Bay of Bengal. Surrounded by green plants, Rushikonda beach looks picture perfect attracting nature lovers in huge numbers. With its vast stretch of waters, Rushikonda beach is the perfect place to enjoy water sports like swimming, water skiing and wind surfing.
Kailasagiri is a hilltop park in the city of Visakhapatnam in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The park was developed by the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority and comprises 380 acres of land covered with flora and tropical trees. The hill, at 173 metres, overlooks the city of Visakhapatnam.
Natural calamities brought unfortunate destruction to the church compelling the reinstallation of a new statue of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in 1877. April 1942 witnessed Japanese raid over Visakhapatnam during which Bishop Roussillon took a vow to take his people under the protection made available at Ross Hill Chapel. Magically, there were no more raids over the city any longer. 10th February 1946 witnessed the first Thanksgiving Procession. This has become a very important aspect in the lives of the people living in Vizag and it makes it an event to lookout for. The church is almost a hundred years old.
Tenneti Park also known as is an Urban park in the city of Visakhapatnam it is very beautiful, it has very big waves, A 3,000 -tonne Bangladeshi cargo vessel MV Maa drifted from the anchorage point and ran aground near Tenneti park in Visakhapatnam, India.Named after the freedom fighter and politician Tenetti Viswanadham, a statue of the leader has been installed on the park premises. The park’s main attraction is the blue-green waters of the Bay of Bengal and the serene setting beside the Kailasagiri Hills; one can trek to these hills through the park. Tourists can also enjoy a toy-train ride at this park.
Araku valley is a beautiful hill station located 115 km from Vizag, Andra Pradesh. It offers breathtaking valleys, silvery waterfalls, verdant forests, well-groomed gardens, rich orchards, and lush forests.
VMRDA City Central Park is a popular amusement park with a musical fountain that dances to the tune of music. The park also has a Bonsai Garden with over 100 varieties of miniature bonsais. Visitors can enjoy yoga, stretching, and live performances at the Amphi Theatre.
